Enjoy the journey

I think we try too much to make sense out of this thing called life. The gurus tell us we need to have goals, but have you ever noticed that when you have a good dream, awake or asleep, it just goes on and on with no end, until you wake up or stop yourself of course? One is born and sooner or later you will die. So can we say that is the goal of life, maybe, but thinking of it like that is bound to put you in the ground quicker than a punch from Mike Tyson. So here is what I think we can try. How about we have goals like they always tell us, but this time let us make the process to achieving those goals a bit more exciting than usual. Think about it, most people that have a 9 to 5 jobs spend about 29 days thinking about payday which is just 1 day in a month and that means you will, on average, be happy 12 times a year. 12 times out of 365 days, now that is not right. I'm no psychologist, but that is bound to cause some mental and emotional problems. So to try and avoid such problems, how about we approach life the same way you would approach organising a party at your house. Think about it, how many people really dread organising organising a party with friends? So you might ask, how do I take this and apply it to my life Mr Writer? Start by thinking about the things that you really want in life and I do mean really want because most people say more money. Sure money will buy you that nice car, big house, dream vacation, etc, but what I want you to think about here is what will those things that money buys bring you? After you decide on what you really want then decide how you intend to get this thing or things that you want. This is the point where you decide on which steps to take to achieve this goal and on top of this you also decide on which of these steps will be the most enjoyable because I'm sure that if your aim was to go see the pyramids of Egypt, walking there from your current position wouldn't be much fun, would it? Before you start this little exercise please bear in mind that you will meet up with some resistance from friends, family and even strangers because they might not understand what is in you and this is not meant to scare you, but to prepare you much like you would take an umbrella when the weather lady says it might rain. I don't know if you noticed that this post has a lot of question marks and that is because only you can answer the questions. So from now on please try and make the process as enjoyable as possible. Who knows, that might even speed up up the goal achieving problems. They say time flys when you're having fun.

They dont have to practice what they preach!

They say practice what you preach. I bet you are saying "yeah, thats right, I'm tired of these Christians telling me to do this and they end up doing that". Sure they do mess up in a spectacular fashion, but that is not why I'm bringing this phrase to your attention. I am bringing it to your attention because I suddenly think the phrase is meant to make you not to listen to reason. Why do I say such, well its because of something I read which said most of what you heard and read from those that came before you might be wrong and if it is important to you just research it to make sure. For example: the lion is the king of the jungle, but the lion doesnt live in a jungle or the earliest bird catches the fatest worm, but Apple inc only started selling their iPhone in 2007 when companies like Motorola had a head start, but they are far behind now , Justin Bieber won the American Music Awards' most important category in his early teens. So what I'm saying here is that the one who is trying to sell a better life to you or giving you advice doesnt have to have lived that life or have done the thing that they are advocating. The only thing that you need to decide is whether it is something that you would like for yourself or not. Just in case you are still wondering if this is hogwash or not, think of it like this: in sports, the best teams and athletes have managers or coaches that would otherwise be unknown were it not for these athletes and most of the managers have never reached the top of the fields that their in, but they help others achieve greatness. So the best you can do for yourself is think of yourself as a ghetto Usain Bolt who can run fast, but doesn't know which shoes to wear to make sure he doesn't wake up with blisters on his feet. How will you celebrate the victory the next day if you can't stand up?
